Topic: Asthma United Airways
Take home points:
Asthma and allergic rhinitis (AR) are airways diseases that have a strong association and often co-exist in both paediatric and adult patients.
Asthma is found in up to 38% of patients with Allergic Rhinitis and nasal symptoms are present in up to 85% of patients with asthma.
Patients with united airway disease have poor asthma control, frequent exacerbations, increased emergency room visits, higher healthcare costs and lower health related quality of life.
Early diagnosis and integrated management of patients with united airway disease can lead to improved quality of life and better control of disease.
