Dear Doctor

Re: SECURITY MEASURES AT YOUR PRACTICE

Crime appears rampant across the country and doctors should not be apathetic towards security measures and utilising technology as a preventive means

We have engaged the Chief Directorate: Security Risk Management from the Western Cape Government …

The Department plays a vital role in exploring how best the WCG is able to align its resources, facilities and staff to increase safety, both within and around WCG infrastructure and facilities.  The Department remains responsible for championing the Transversal Security Risk Management Strategy (Strategy) as adopted by Cabinet in 2013.

Security Advisory Services

The Directorate Security Advisory Services advises Western Cape Government departments with regards to safety and security governance. WCG departments are further supported with the conducting of Safety and Security Risk Assessments. These Assessments assists WCG departments to manage safety and security risks appropriately as the risk factors that may affect the ability to deliver on their mandates are identified and mitigations provided as an appropriate response. Both you and your patients are not safe from this scourge affecting the country.

The Directorate has guided on the following important online information to assist with making a more thorough assessment of the overall network security needs.

Your practice may use the link contained to print out the list for emergency contact numbers – https://www.westerncape.gov.za/general-publication/know-who-you-can-call-emergency

This survey is in addition to our security newsflash and survey of 10 June 2022, and for those practices who have not completed then, to please do so now. We need a collective response on this.
